We are sent from Colonial Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, VA to serve and minister in England.
In December 2015, after working in Chesham, England for almost three years, we have moved to pastor a small congregation in North London called High Road Baptist Church. We have begun working there to help reestablish this church, it is our goal to lift up Jesus so that he will draw this congregation closer to him and open blind eyes to his glorious gospel.
We are excited about the ministry God has given us and look forward to his blessings. It is our prayer, as was Paul’s, in 2 Thessalonians 1 “that our God may make [us] worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition [our] every desire for goodness and [our] every deed prompted by faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in [us], and [us] in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
We desire for our ministry to be…
God-glorifying. We believe that God’s purpose in creation and redemption is the appropriate and beautiful estimation of His supreme worth. Therefore, we desire to minister in England not merely because of the needs of Christians or the rising forces of unbelief, but ultimately because those conditions detract from His glory.
Biblically-based. We know the purpose of God and the love of Christ through the Spirit’s inspired books. As the only specific and detailed revelation of God, it carries incomparable authority and sufficiency for the body of Christ. Therefore, this (rather than opinion, programs, or techniques) must govern and shape our ministry and be the primary source of all preaching, teaching, discipleship and worship.
Grace-driven. The radically undeserved nature of God’s goodness toward us in the work of Christ defines and motivates us. This standard reorients how we view others and ministry—the awareness that any righteousness and spiritual life we have is sourced in God rather than ourselves produces humility and unity. Worship of a radically gracious God demands a radically gracious stance towards others.
We pray that we will be able to minister in the following areas…
Church Restoration: There are many churches throughout the country that are dwindling in numbers or are on the brink of dying out of existence completely. We are praying for opportunities to help renew and restore these churches back to a place where they can be a light for Jesus.
Teaching/Preaching: As we reestablish churches and evangelize, the expository preaching and will be the key foundation for the building of the church.
Evangelism: The people in England need Christ. We pray that we can reach out to those without hope and show them Christ through our words and deeds.
